Building a gentleman's dresser and I am wanting to attach some wood carvings on the drawers. What is the best way to do this without getting glue smear. Thanks

i would put glue on carving, touch to woodscrap to remove excess glue and distribute glue, then attach to dresser with clamp

No matter what you do, there is always a chance that the glue will ooze out around the edges. Whether you clamp or nail the woodcarving on to the dresser, remember to keep a damp rag handy to wipe the excess glue that shows up from around the joint. I prefer using a type of glue that is water soluable when doing these types of things. Be careful though, any glue left on the surface of the wood will affect the way stain takes when finishing your project. Good luck
